What’s happening in December
The Church Meeting will be held after the service at 12 noon on Sunday 30th November and will be chaired by our minister, Clare. All are welcome to attend, but only members can vote. If you are unable to attend please send your apologies or sign the sheets on Sunday.
On Thursday 4th December the Open the Book Team will visit Coed y Lan Primary to share the story ‘On to Bethlehem’. We have been asked to provide a patch to add to the Community Quilt which the school is making. Two members of the team have been at the school to help the children with their sewing.
Language classes are held on Monday mornings at 10am in the Hall. There will be a class on 22nd but not on the 29th.
St David’s Guild is held at the Museum on Wednesdays at 2pm. Marilyn Leach has once again booked a variety of interesting speakers for December. All are welcome to join in and experience the pleasure and joy of this mid-week fellowship. Refreshments are always served.
Wednesday 3rd: An introduction to the new Metro system in the valleys. Eleanor Crowley
The electrification of the railway lines for the Wales and Borders network is part of a £800 million investment. On December 3rd we shall hear all about the work that has been carried out in readiness for the new trains and the benefits we can enjoy from them.
Wednesday 10th: Christmas decorations Our own Colleen
Colleen is going to surprise and delight us with her Christmas Craft session. We shall try our best, listen to her instructions and hopefully produce a result which is similar to the high standard she has set. No doubt we shall have a lot of fun.
Wednesday 17th: Trumpet concert Eira Roberts
Eira Roberts is giving us a trumpet recital. Her programme is an eclectic one – fun Christmas music and a quiz with one or two classical pieces as well. Eira will be performing in the main hall of the museum.
