St David’s Uniting Church Monthly Magazine – December 2025

November 29, 2025 / Alison Jones / News

Our chosen Christmas Appeal charities:

Every year we select a UK based charity and an international charity for our Christmas Appeal. This year we are supporting Rowan Tree Cancer Care and the Malagasy Bible Society in Madagascar. The appeal will remain open until the New Year. Envelopes are available, please put your name on the envelope if you wish to gift aid your donation.

Rowan Tree Cancer Care is a charity based in Rhondda Cynon Taff area that provides emotional and practical support to families affected by cancer.

Malagasy Bible Society

There has been civil unrest in Madagascar with young people protesting against government corruption. Unfortunately, this has led to looting and damage to businesses and buildings. During a riot the offices of the Malagasy Bible society were damaged as a result of a fire, Bibles were burned and damaged by water used to extinguish the fire. Money raised will support the work of the society by enabling them to replace their Bibles and equipment.
