‘An exploration of people, prejudice and protest’ –

 “Let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.” Amos 5:24

St. David’s Uniting Church is hosting the Let Paul Robeson Sing exhibition and using it as a springboard to discuss and denounce all forms of prejudice and discrimination. Through our accompanying program of events we shall challenge injustice, celebrate the creativity of our community and remind everyone that they are extravagantly and unconditionally loved by God.

Sun. 4th Oct. 10.45am: Morning Worship – Ray Vincent opens this month’s theme

6.00pm: Meeting Hate With Love – Phil Wall
Conversations with the charity “Displaced People In Action”

Fri. 9th Oct. 7.30pm: “Hidden – Now Heard” Mencap Annual Lecture
with Q&A (Sara Pickard and Wayne Crocker)
Sun. 11th Oct. 10.45am: Morning Worship – Phil Wall – Marking World Mental Health Day

6.00pm: Film & chat service – screening “B for boy”
in association with Wales – Africa Film Festival

Wed. 14th Oct. 7.00pm: “Human Library” – take out a human ‘book’ and discover more about the lives of Gypsies, Roma and Travellers
Sat. 17th Oct. 10.00am – 12.00pm: Coffee morning with music by Pontyclun Community Choir
Sun. 18th Oct. 10.45am: Morning Worship – Phil Wall – “Open Arms – God’s Extravagant Welcome”

6.00pm: Evening Worship – Fiona Liddell – “Speak up for tomorrow”

Thu. 22nd Oct. 6.30pm: Primary Schools Choir – Children celebrate in words and music their responses to the Voices Project
Fri. 23rd Oct. 7.30pm: Courage and Christianity – How & Why the Church can welcome and support gay Christians (Jeremy Marks)
Sat. 24th Oct. 10.00am – 4.00pm: Llafur – Welsh People’s History Society – conference
Sun. 25th Oct. 10.45am: Morning Worship – Revd. Dr. Michael Jagessar – Secretary: Racial Justice and Multicultural Ministry of the United Reformed Church – “Grace Abounds”

6.00pm: At Church House – Informal Worship – Phil Wall and Jeremy Marks, Founder of Courage

Fri. 30th Oct. 8.00pm: A showing of one of Paul Robeson’s iconic films
Mon. 2nd Nov. 7.30pm: A Paul Robeson Tribute Concert, starring Sir Willard White
