Church Family and Pastoral News
We include this in the news sheet to inform our prayers.
- We hold Heather, a loyal worker at Church house, and her family, in our prayers following the death last weekend of her husband Jeff.
- We think of Pat in her concern for Gareth who will be having an ultra sound scan on Monday.
- Martha is feeling quite a bit better and has been moved to Llwynypia for rehabilitation.
- Gwyneth James has received good news from the hospital and is very happy. We pray that this will continue.
- Brian Lancaster is getting on OK after his op although he is a bit tired.
- There people who are struggling with life at the moment, also those who since COVID have lost the confidence to get out and mix with others, we hold them all in our prayers.
- John Edwards hasn’t been too well and we send our love to him.
- We are sorry to hear that Mike and Marilyn have succumbed to Covid, Mike is OK but Marilyn is not.
Birthdays
There are three birthday’s that we are aware of this week, but one prefers not to make it public! Elwyn Williams has his birthday on Monday 19th and Iestyn Henson will be celebrating on Wednesday 21st and the other birthday is on Thursday 22nd – However you celebrate we wish you all a very enjoyable day.
Good News
Chris Morris is very pleased that following his recent eye problems he is allowed to drive!
Thanks from…..
Janet Bullock…..Many thanks for the beautiful birthday cards and gifts I received on my ‘special’ birthday! I appreciate your kindness and generosity. I feel blessed ~ THANKYOU!
Unexpected Bank Holiday
As many people of the UK, and around the world will spend Monday watching the funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth. We think of those for whom funerals evoke painful memories, we think especially of Stephen and the family as they gather to lay the mortal remains of Cerys to rest.

Dates for your Diary St David’s
Sunday 25th at 10.45 – Harvest Service. We will be collecting for the local foodbank (Tinned Fish, Tinned Rice Pudding, Tinned Fruit, Biscuits, Crisps/Snacks being the top 5 needed food items right now) as well as money for our harvest charity. Which will be confirmed at the church meeting. We also look forward to welcoming new church member, Gwynedd Deville, and to ordaining Claire Hughes and Sue Walkling as elders. It will be quite the service!

Sponsored half Marathon
Please support Alison as she is running the Cardiff Half Marathon on 2nd October – in aid of British Heart Foundation.
‘On 2 December 2021, my youngest sister suffered a Sudden Cardiac Arrest whilst she was at work. She was 51 years of age and had nothing wrong with her except a couple of unexplained (at the time) episodes of breathlessness in the previous couple of weeks. It could so easily have been fatal. This is why I have chosen BHF’
If you wish to sponsor Alison the form is on the table. More information is available on Alison’s Just giving page

Do you hate odd bods?
Do you hate odd bods?
Jesus Christ was an odd bod!
You are hating him!
Do you persecute?
They did it to Jesus Christ!
You persecute Him!
Do you shun odd bods?
That means you are shunning me!
I am an odd bod!
We are all odd bods.
God made everyone that way.
Celebrate odd bods!
Do I make my point?
(John Henson 16/9/22)
