19th June 2022
We welcome everyone to our services both at Castle Square and St David’s – the St David’s service will be live streamed. Link for Live Stream – https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1ftWuXHexnfFdo1FKwXBZA
The Commission of Covenanted Churches was formed following the decision by the following Churches and Denominations in 1975 ‘to seek visible unity’ together: The Covenanted Baptist churches, the Presbyterian Church of Wales, the United Reformed Church, the Methodist Church and the Church in Wales. For almost 50 years, the Commission has fostered discussions on issues such as ministry and sacraments, ways of encouraging local partnership and collaboration between congregations of different traditions and has provided resources for shared prayer and worship. On June 19th this year, churches across Wales are invited to remember what has been achieved and to make a fresh commitment to continue ‘to seek visible unity’ between us and ‘to maintain through the bonds of peace, the unity which the Spirit gives’ (Ephesians 4.5).
To lead us with this, Revd Aled Edwards – friend of the church and CEO of Cytun – will be leading worship at St. David’s Uniting Church, whilst Revd Ray Vincent will lead Castle Square’s service. Phil, meanwhile, will be doing some ecumenical work of his own as he attends a Catholic service whilst on holiday in Ireland! Sláinte!
Today’s Reflection script is not on our website – but will be available on our YouTube page.

Church Family and Pastoral News
We include this in the news sheet to inform our prayers.
- We continue to hold Stephen in our prayers as he treads a new path with many challenges.
- Diane Wheeler is the latest of our number to succumb to Covid. She tested positive after returning from a Baltic cruise which was good, although the weather was awful! She is now isolating for the required time.
- As many will know Bethan has been waiting for an operation since she broke her wrist in February – she received an appointment recently, but had it postponed a little while later – we think of her in her frustration!
- Martha and Gill Miller are both much better and were delighted to get to chapel for Castle Square’s Jubilee tea.
- Jean and John who are settling in to their new flat on the Graig are hoping to have a phone connected this week.
- Chris Morris has finally had a date for his eye operation. We hope all goes well.
- We think of those for whom this time of year has sad memories.
- We send our Congratulations and Best Wishes to Terry and Annette of Castle Square as they celebrate their Golden Wedding on June 24th. Enjoy your break away.
Birthdays
Gill Cox celebrated a ‘big’ birthday on Saturday 18th – Belated congratulations Gill from all your friends at Castle Sq and those at St David’s who know you. We hope you had a good day. There is just one birthday this week – Marilyn Morgan’s birthday is TODAY! Enjoy ‘your’ day Marilyn.
