2nd April 2023
We offer a warm welcome to everyone who joins us on this special day, when we remember Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
Our Service this morning will be led by our good friend Haydn Blackey
This week, Holy Week, we will try, in thought and imagination, to follow our Lord’s journey to his Cross. The programme for worship and meditation during Holy week is set out below. Do try and join in all or some of these evenings, so that we may become aware yet again of the sad events between Palm Sunday and Easter Day. Tea and coffee will be served following the service.
Church Family and Pastoral News
We include this in the news sheet to inform our prayers
- We remember those in our congregation who are awaiting tests and test results but who prefer not to be mentioned by name.
- Some of our congregation are feeling under par.
Birthdays
There are no birthdays that we are aware of this week. But last week Dorothy celebrated her birthday in style with many cards from the church community, visits and outing with her family.
Good News
We have a wealth of good news to celebrate this week!
Alison Jones daughter is ‘home’ from Australia for a month.
Congratulations to the Pontypridd under 14’s Netball team that Rhiannon plays for. They became regional champions last Sunday winning all five of their matches! The team now goes forward to the National Championships in May!
Some good news to report from our Syrian friends. One of the families is celebrating the birth of a grandson to their eldest daughter who recently arrived in this country. They are thrilled that he has been born in a place of safety away from the war in Syria.
Robert and Pete are pleased to report that the Monday language lessons now include up to 5 refugees from Ukraine and another from Turkey.
And congratulations to Lucy Chester who passed her PhD Viva exam this week. Officially Dr Lucy! Lucy leaves on Friday to take up a research post in Canada. Good luck!
