St David’s Uniting Church Monthly Magazine – October 2025

September 28, 2025 / Catherine Naamani / News

Looking further ahead …..

Directory:

We are in the process of updating the Church Directory.  It is very important that any changes of phone number, email or address are sent to [email protected] as soon as possible or given by hand to Marcia.  We would like to aim to have the fully updated directory circulated by the end of November 2025.

A reminder of charities we support

Our ‘Copper Pot’ is by the Organ waiting for your ‘small change’, the money is donated to ‘local’ charities; if you have any suggestions for a worthy charity, please make them known.

We collect stamps for Amnesty International, so please check your mail, cut off the stamps – leaving a small border – please remember the barcode is part of the stamp. and put them in the box on the table they will then be recycled to raise funds.

We have supported Pontypridd Foodbank for many years. As most Supermarkets now have donation boxes for food items, we now have a collection box for monetary donations. This is the new logo.

Leprosy

The Leprosy Mission is a cause which several people have supported for many years prior to us being St David’s Uniting Church. Some use collecting boxes others give a yearly donation which is usually collected in November.

Image of a vase of flowers and a thank you card

Thank you:

Thanks for the beautiful flowers and gift that I received last Sunday as I ‘retired’ from editorial duties. I have always enjoyed compiling the weekly newsletter but have recently struggled with the constraints of GDPR and poor memory! I put it down to age.

I will spend my gift on something that will give me happy memories.

Marcia

Note from the incoming Editor:

I would like to add my own thanks to Marcia for all her patience and hard work in producing the news sheet. It has been a very valuable source of information, encouragement and support over the years.  I would also like to thank anyone and everyone else who has been involved in any way at all with the production, printing and distribution of the news sheet for the last however many years.

I’m hoping you will all continue to help me and I am also hoping that you enjoy the new style of the re-vamped monthly newsletter! Please be patient with me as I take on this new challenge.  I will do my best but it may well take a couple of months to take shape properly.  Please don’t hesitate to point out any errors or omissions – hopefully there will not be too many!!

And Finally…….

If you have any Church News which you would like to be included in the 26 October edition please send this directly to me either by email to [email protected] or by phone.  My phone number is in the church directory. Any personal news should only be sent by the person who has news to share, especially if any personal details are included. Please ensure this reaches me at the latest by Monday 20 October. Anything received after that Monday (unless an exceptional circumstance) will be included in the November edition.

Many thanks.

Alison
