A reminder of charities we support
Our ‘Copper Pot’ is by the Organ waiting for your ‘small change’, the money is donated to ‘local’ charities; if you have any suggestions for a worthy charity, please make them known.
We collect stamps for Amnesty International, so please check your mail, cut off the stamps – leaving a small border – please remember the barcode is part of the stamp. and put them in the box on the table they will then be recycled to raise funds.
We have supported Pontypridd Foodbank for many years. As most Supermarkets now have donation boxes for food items, we now have a collection box for monetary donations. This is the new logo.
Many of our congregation support The Leprosy Mission. For those who donate annually Margaret Morris will be collecting these donations during November so please do not hesitate to contact her if you require any further information or details or if would like to donate to this cause.
Rowan Tree Cancer Care and Bibles for Madagascar are the two charities which the elders have chosen for St David’s to support for the Advent period. Gifts for Homestart are also being accepted and these can include cash or supermarket vouchers so that the charity can make up food hampers for Christmas. As we have a hostel near us in Treforest it was agreed that gifts would be donated there instead of the hostel in Mill Street. Both are run by Pobl.
Looking further ahead …..
Pontypridd Community Choir are taking part in ‘Festive Voices’ in the Muni on 4 December – starting at 7.30pm. There will be a reminder in next month’s edition of the Newsletter, and whilst November is a slightly quieter month, next month’s edition will contain details of all the events, services and activities which are taking place before, during and after Christmas.
I trust that as the evenings are drawing in you will stay warm and well and that you will remember to look at the Newsletter regularly to remind yourself of upcoming events.
And Finally…….
If you have any Church News or articles which you would like to be included in the 30 November edition of the Newsletter, please send it directly to me either by email to [email protected] or by phone. My phone number is in the church directory. Any personal news should only be sent by (or at least with the permission of) the person who has news to share, especially if any personal details are included. Please ensure this reaches me at the latest by Monday 24 November. Anything received after that Monday (unless an exceptional circumstance) will be included in the end of December edition.
Many thanks.
Alison
