Other Church Events

Language classes are held on Monday mornings at 10am in the Hall.

Ny Ako – the renowned performing arts group from Madagascar are currently touring Europe and will be visiting Wales in  June.  Their name means “The Echo” reflecting their mission to echo and celebrate the legacy of Welsh missionaries who travelled to Madagascar in the 1800s. We had the pleasure of hosting the group a few years ago.  Their local performances will be held as follows:

Sunday 14 June at 7pm at Llanfair Uniting Church, Penrhys and
Friday 10 July at 7 pm at Capel y Bont, Pontypridd

Malagasy crafts will be on sale at the events and everyone is welcome.  You may need to book at [email protected] or on 01443 732814.

Thursday 25 June – Open the Book at Coed y Lan Primary School.

Monday 29 June – 7pm AGM. For further information please see below.

Final reminder – Vacancy for Elder:

Maralyn Tomlinson will be finishing as an Elder at the AGM on 29 June. We are grateful for all she has done over the past years.

Nomination forms for a place on the Eldership are available. Please speak with your elder/pastoral buddy if you are unable to pick one up. Those members we have email addresses for will receive a nomination form by email.

Here are the t’s and c’s……….

Current Eldership: Lynda Bull, Anne Coles, Iestyn Henson, Claire Hughes, Viviane Lamare, Catherine Naamani, Colleen Rowan, Maralyn Tomlinson, Ray Vincent, Bethan Walkling.

All St David’s Uniting Church members can nominate any other church member whom they deem to have the gifts and graces to serve God through church eldership. More than one name can be given and neither a seconder, nor the permission of the person you’re nominating, needs to be sought. Please take some time to prayerfully consider this. All forms must be received by 7 June.

After counting the person with the most nominations will be asked if they are willing to take on the role of Elder. If this person refuses the next person will be asked and so on until someone agrees. There is no vote. For further information ask your elder or the secretary.

The new elder will be affirmed at the AGM on 29 June.

Community Events

At 10.15am every Monday – including Bank Holidays – the Park Ramblers meet outside B&M to start the week off with a walk around our beautiful park followed by coffee at The Gatto Lounge. If any arrangements change, walkers will be notified by email of any changes. All are welcome to join at their own pace or just join for coffee around 11am.  If the weather is very bad they may just go straight for coffee!! 😊
