7th Sept 2025

We give a warm welcome to everyone who joins us for worship today, especially if you are a visitor or worshipping with us for the first time.

We are very pleased to welcome once again our good friend Haydn Blackey as our worship leader today.  May we all know the joy of worship in God’s presence, and experience the challenge of his word to us as Haydn leads us in his own inimitable way.

Tea and coffee will be served in the hall following the service, when a large range of Handmade cards will be on sale. Please take this opportunity to chat with people you don’t see very often or haven’t spoken to before.

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP)

MAP works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees.
They provide immediate medical aid to those in great need, while also developing local capacity and skills to ensure the long-term development of the Palestinian healthcare system.
If you haven’t already donated today is your last opportunity to contribute to the appeal unless you donate online   https://www.map.org.uk/?form=FUNFXHDCJPK

This People’s Peace Walk is supported by Rhondda Cynon Taf Palestine Solidarity Campaign.

The People’s Peace Walk ‘25 miles through Gaza’ which is raising funds for MAP is being done in 6 stages, starting at 6.30am at Merthyr Tydfil, they should be arriving at the 4th stage, Ynysangharad Park about 11.30 when they will be taking a lunch break before continuing along the Taf Trail at 12.30 to the Nantgarw ‘viewing spot’ where they will have a 10-minute break, before continuing to Alexandra Gardens, Cardiff where they will join others at a temporary memorial to the children killed in Gaza  and The Temple of Peace and Health by 6.00pm, where light refreshments will be provided.

Thought for the Week

If we could see that Christ is the needy one, the torture victim, the prisoner, the murder victim,
and if in each human figure so shamefully thrown by our roadsides, we could see Christ himself cast aside,
we would pick him up like a medal of gold to be kissed lovingly.

Archbishop Oscar Romero
