5th March 2023

We give a warm welcome to everyone who joins us for worship today, especially if you are a visitor or worshipping with us for the first time.

We are very pleased to welcome Lewis Lewis-Head as our Guest preacher today. This isn’t his first visit to our church as he has visited in the past when he was a lot younger!

We pray for us all a time of rich blessing, but also of challenge, as Lewis leads us.

Fairtrade coffee and tea will be served after this morning’s service and all are welcome to join in this time of informal fellowship.

We include this in the news sheet to inform our prayers.

  • The funeral for Edith Thomas will be held on March 14th, at 1.30 at Glyntaf. Family flowers only, donations in lieu to Parkinson’s UK c/o Castle Court Funeral Home 1 Castle St, Treforest, Pontypridd CF37 1TA. We hold those who will miss her in our prayers.
  • We are pleased to say that Mary Robins has been transferred to Ward C3 Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda. Visitors have to book! Hopefully it will not be too long before Mary is able to return to her home.
  • Hopefully Sue Skym is recovering from the cataract operation she had on Friday.
  • Please remember those of our fellowship who are concerned about the health of family members.
  • There are many people we know of who are now finding life more challenging.
  • We think of those who find this time of year difficult as it holds sad memories for them.

St David’s Guild

Last week we celebrated St David’s Day in style – We were tested on our knowledge of ‘All things Welsh’ with a multiple-choice quiz provided by Marilyn. A PowerPoint presentation gave us some beautiful scenes of Wales and was accompanied by well-known Welsh songs which we were able to sing along to, before eating some delicious Welsh cakes. It was a very enjoyable afternoon.

This week we will welcome Dave Kitchen to our meeting ~ He ‘heading’ for the afternoon is – is Never leapfrog over a unicorn! An intriguing title.
