2nd June 2024

We welcome you all to our services today: if you are a visitor or worshipping with us for the first time, we hope you will feel ‘at home’ and return again soon.

We especially welcome our good friend Dave Kitchen who is leading our worship this morning. It is always a pleasure to have Dave with us and we look forward to this time of fellowship with him.

Tea and coffee will be served in the hall following the service, and handmade cards will be on sale. Please join us for this time of informal fellowship.

Church Family and Pastoral News

We include this in the newsletter to inform our prayers during the week.

  • We think of Sonia as she joins her family to say a final goodbye to her sister Hazel on Tuesday.
  • Please continue to keep Marcia and the family in your prayers. A service of Thanksgiving for Brian will be held in the church on Thursday 13th More details will be given next week.
  • We rejoice with Elsie who was expecting to be given a date to start radiotherapy but has been told that her current hormone treatment is working so well that they will continue with it and have another review in three months.
  • We remember those of our fellowship who are experiencing periods of loneliness.
  • We give thanks for those who ‘work’ every week so that we are able to share worship together.

Birthdays

There are just 3 people that we are aware of who have their birthdays this week:

Liz Henson and Vaughan Rees will be celebrating today (Sunday 2nd) and Stephanie will no doubt have family visiting on Thursday 6th!  Enjoy your celebrations folks.

…..From Marcia.  ‘I have received many messages, cards, gifts and flowers. The sentiments expressed about Brian have been amazing, the support of my church family has been fantastic and much appreciated.   ♥♥

Celebration Service

Our Celebration Service will take part on 20th July at 3:00pm and will be followed by Afternoon Tea. Please add your name to the sign-up sheet to let us know if you are coming so we have an idea of numbers.

Do you have a special moment or event you’d like everyone to know about relating to your time at St David’s Uniting? During the service we would like to include memories of people’s time at Gelliwastad Rd and also Carmel and St David’s Presbyterian.
