22nd June 2025

We welcome everyone who joins us for worship today, especially if you are visiting, or worshipping with us for the first time. The service will include the celebration of the Lords Supper; we invite all who so wish to share in the bread and wine with us.

Our ‘Worship Leader’ today needs no introduction!  Iestyn Henson has been an active member of our church family for more years than he cares to remember. He and Liz were the first ‘new’ members of St David’s Uniting Church in January 2002.

Iestyn will be giving us an insight into the lectionary reading for this week Luke 8 26-39. We can be assured of an interesting and thought-provoking service.

We pray for us all a time of rich blessing, but also of challenge, as Iestyn leads us.

We invite you to join us in the hall following the service where tea and coffee will be served and a selection of handmade cards will also be available.

Pastoral Matters

We only include names when permission has been given.

  • We are sad to report that Gwenllian passed away in hospital earlier this week. She has been a faithful member of our fellowship since joining us after Porth URC closed in May 2016. Gwenllian was an Elder and the Pulpit Secretary for Porth URC, and passed on some contacts to us. We hold her brother, and the family in our thoughts at this time along with her good friends from the former Porth URC family. Gwenllian’s quiet presence will be greatly missed by many.
  • We continue to hold the family and friends of Doreen Richards Clarke in our prayers. Doreen’s funeral will take place on Wednesday 2nd July at 12.30. at Crane Street Church, Pontypool, followed by cremation at the Gwent Crematorium, Cwmbran.
  • We remember those who are in hospital or have appointments and pray that all will go well.
  • We think of those for whom this time of year holds sad memories.

Birthdays

There are just two people we are aware of who will celebrating their birthdays this week, they are:

“I wish to say a belated thanks to everyone who took the time to send me cards, messages and gifts on my birthday. I was overwhelmed and had a good day. – Thank you All.    Stephanie ”
