21st September 2025

We welcome you all to our services today as we enter the second year in Treforest. If you are a visitor or worshipping with us for the first time you are especially welcome.

We are very pleased to once again welcome Revd Aled Edwards who leading our services today and we pray that, through his ministry, we may all receive the blessing that we most need.

Fair-traded refreshments will be served in the hall following the service. We invite you to join us for this time of informal fellowship.

A request from Colleen

It’s less than 100 days till Christmas!! Could people start thinking if they need any personalised Christmas cards made for them and to get any orders in as soon as possible please.

Time for a change!

Having compiled the weekly newsletter for 11 months of every year for longer than I care to remember, with three different Ministers, I am finally passing the task over to a new pair of hands.

This is the last weekly newsletter! Alison is taking on the challenge of our new Monthly News which will be published on the last weekend of every month.

Alison will need OUR help. Any items for the first edition need to be with her by Monday 22nd September, which should not be a surprise as notice has been given for the last three weeks.

The content of the ‘Monthly News’ is up to all of us.  If YOU have any Church News which you would like to be included, please send it directly to Alison either by email [email protected] or by phone.

A reminder of charities we support

Our ‘Copper Pot’ is by the Organ waiting for your ‘small change’, the money is donated to ‘local’ charities; if you have any suggestions for a worthy charity, please make them known.

We collect stamps for Amnesty International, so please check your mail, cut off the stamps – leaving a small border – please remember the barcode is part of the stamp. and put them in the box on the table they will then be recycled to raise funds.

We have supported Pontypridd Foodbank for many years. As most Supermarkets now have donation boxes for food items, we now have a collection box for monetary donations. This is the new logo.

Leprosy

The Leprosy Mission is a cause which several people have supported for many years prior to us being St David’s Uniting Church. Some use collecting boxes others give a yearly donation which is usually collected in November.

My Final Thought for the Week

Map out your future – but do it in pencil.

The road ahead it is as long as you make it. Make it worth the trip.

John Bon Jovi.

Good News.         It will be warm in church – the heating has been switched on!
