10th Aug 2025

Welcome everyone, to our monthly ZOOM service, whether you are in Wales, England or the other side of the world.

If you are joining from the comfort of your home, please follow the link above.

The chat room will be open from 10.30 and you will have chance to chat again when the service finishes.

For those who will be in the sanctuary, we will be able to chat over a ‘cuppa’ in the hall following the service when handmade cards will also be available.

The service will start at 10.45 and Claire Hughes will lead the service from her home.

The readings today are Isaiah Ch 1 v 1 & 10-20 and Matthew Ch 22 v 34-40

Two people will be responsible for the technology, one in the church and one at home!

We are very grateful to Claire and our technicians for making this service possible.

Pastoral Matters

We only include names when permission has been given.

  • We think of those who are connected to our fellowship who will be receiving their ‘A’ level results this week and we rejoice with those who have heard that close family have achieved excellent results in recent college exams.
  • The Elders as they meet to deal with all that is involved to prepare for the future of our fellowship as we join the Valley’s Pastorate.
  • We give thanks for ‘good’ news and we remember those for whom news has not been so good.
  • We think of those who are waiting for the results of hospital tests.
  • The family of the late Cyril Oliver whose funeral will be held in the church on Wednesday at 2pm

Recycling

As a church we strive to recycle many items, we have in the past recycled spectacles. You can now recycle metal and plastic glasses, sunglasses and contact lenses at Specsavers in Pontypridd. They can all be made into a wide range of items, such as furniture, home and garden accessories, including benches and play park equipment.

With many people on regular medication did you know that blister packs can be recycled. Boots Chemist have a recycling point in store.

A Request for help.

The teenage son of a member of our language class is looking for an adult size bike and also a computer to help him when he starts school in September. If you can help, please speak to Viviane.

Thought for the Week

“Without deep listening and gentle loving speech it is very difficult to move towards peace.

Peace will only become a reality, when world leaders come to negotiations

with the ability to hear the suffering at the root of all conflicts.”

Thich Nhat Hanh (Religious leader, writer, activist, 1926, Vietnam)
