29th October 2017
Welcome, everyone, to our services today; if this is your first visit, we hope you will feel the warmth of our welcome and return again soon.
There will be a short break following the morning service for a quick coffee, before we reconvene for the Church meeting as near to 12 as possible, copies of the agenda are on the table. ALL are welcome to stay and hear and/or help as we plan for the coming months.
Our service this morning is being led by the elders as part of a trial of occasional services involving members of the congregation.
The Copper pot is on the table at the back of the church waiting for your ‘small’ change, which will benefit local charities.

This Week and in the future:
In Ladies Guild we have many interesting speakers, this week Keith Jones will speak to us; the title of his talk is The Workhouse – ‘Lingering Fear’. This may well invoke memories of days past! We meet at 2pm in the Church.
The location of Church House makes it a great place to watch fireworks from many areas of Pontypridd. We’ll be opening the gates at Church House on Saturday 4th at about 6.45pm for folk in the community to be able to view the Fireworks either indoors or out. Hopefully there’ll be hot chocolate!
4pm, Sunday 12th November – our our next film and chat afternoon, which takes place on Remembrance Sunday, we will watch and discuss a 1960s British musical which takes a sideways look at the First World War. Certificate PG.
Mark Stone from the Cardiff Reform Synagogue has invited us to share their Shabbat worship on the morning of Saturday November 18th. The service starts at 11am and finishes by 1pm, including refreshments. Sign up sheet can be found at the back of the church.
Cwm Taf University Health Board hold several public meetings a year and we are invited to attend any of the meetings to express our views or ask questions about the following topics.
- Major Trauma – plans to establish a large trauma centre in South Wales that will treat life threatening injuries
- Thoracic Surgery – we want your views on specialist surgery for chest diseases
- Mental Health – progress on the development of care and support in the community
- Cwm Taf’s Well-Being Plan – Public Health Wales, the Health Board and our partners are working on a five year plan to improve health and well-being – we need your input!
