We give a warm welcome to all who join us for worship today; the 2nd Sunday in Advent, and our ‘Gift Sunday’, as we bring our gifts for the Mill Street Hostel, Homestart, Freedom from Torture and Viva Wales. Our morning worship will be led Iestyn as Phil is leading worship at Castle Square. Evening worship, which will include the celebration of the Lord’s Supper, will be led by Phil. Fairtrade tea and coffee will be served after this morning’s service and the Traidcraft stall will also be open, and handmade cards will be on sale, do take this opportunity to see what is available and enjoy some light refreshments in the company of friends. Please remember the Copper Pot, and put your loose change in it before you leave, it will be used to benefit local charities.

Wednesday 10th December Ladies Guild
For the penultimate meeting of this session our guest speaker will be Simon Walkling who will be sharing the experiences of his visit with Christian Aid to El Salvador.
Thursday 11th December Annual Christmas concert
The 32nd Annual Christmas concert of seasonal music and Carols in aid of CLIC / Sargent – Caring for Children with Cancer, featuring: Jane Watts – renowned Organist, the Brass ensemble of the Welsh Guards, the Combined Hospital Choir of 250 voices, (including Deborah) The Prince of Wales’ Harpist – Hannah Stone and others. The concert will take place at St David’s Hall at 7.30pm.
Sunday 14th December ‘O come all ye Faithful’
At our Special Evening service we will welcome some of the people who meet in our premises during the week, some will be taking part in the service. Refreshments will be served after the service.
New Kitchen Fund
The fund has been given a boost! Sharon has donated over £100 from the sale of Cookery books and baking aids. THANKYOU Sharon.
The gifts received today will be given to the Children and Teenagers supported by Homestart and the residents of the Mill Street Hostel. Our Christmas Appeal for the work of Viva Wales and Freedom from Torture will remain ‘open’ until 21 December. Gift envelopes are available, if you wish to ‘gift aid’ please write your name on the envelope. Envelopes to be given to Anne Hill.
Christmas Cards The Greetings Card Board and the card sorter are in place. We suggest you write one generic card for the ‘church’ friends you see frequently and pin it on the board then give a donation to the charity of your choice. Please check the card sorter for ‘your’ mail.
Used Postage stamps for Amnesty International As the Christmas cards arrive please remember to cut the stamps off the envelopes – leaving a small border and put them in the box on the table.
Christmas Cinema Trip Following a spate of heavier films, this month’s cinema trip will be to see ‘Paddington’ at Nantgarw in the late afternoon of Saturday 13th December. All are welcome, marmalade sandwiches optional, more details to come.”
PCW Mission Appeal Maralyn Tomlinson will gladly accept your gifts for the annual appeal for funds toward mission and outreach work at home and overseas. As we prepare for Christmas, please remember those who will not need to visit the food bank. A list of foods is on the Notice board.
