6 Oct 2013
We welcome you all to our services today, especially if you are a visitor or worshipping with us for the first time.
We are pleased that once again our own Rev Ray Vincent is leading our morning service. Evening worship, which will include the celebration of the Lord’s Supper, will be led by Iestyn and Alan, who have stepped in at short notice as Ray is preaching elsewhere tonight.
Tea and coffee will be served in the hall following the morning service, the traidcraft stall will be open and handmade cards will be on sale. ALL are invited to join in this time of informal fellowship.
Before you leave, please remember the Copper pot, and put your spare coppers in it. They will be put to good use by local charities.

Dates for your Diary
Wednesday 9 October Ladies Guild
‘Housewives Choice’ – This is always a good afternoon, as there is always a variety as the ladies provide the ‘entertainment’
All are welcome to join us in the Victoria Room at 2pm.
Friday 18 October ‘Harvest Thanksgiving’
The Chaplaincy is holding a short Harvest Thanksgiving service at the Meeting House from 12.15 to 12.45, with an invitation for people to bring their lunch and share tea and coffee afterwards. This is at the end of our special Foodbank Week in which we hope to have an extra big collection of donations to the Foodbank, and this too will feature in the service.
We are, as you know, an open an inclusive Chaplaincy offering a service to people “of all faiths and none”, but we do this in the name of Christ, and we need to grasp opportunities to express the Christian faith which is at the heart of all we do.
Harvest, of course, means something to everybody whether they are Christians or not, which makes it a good time to invite people of all kinds to join us. However, we need a good strong Christian congregation at the heart of it, so we would like to invite you to help us in this important part of our work by attending the service.
Your support will be greatly appreciated. Vaughan

If you’ve seen our new web-site at www.stdavidsuniting.org.uk and would like to read items of news that would interest you, then why not become a contributor? Cerys will be arranging tutorial sessions in the near future for all who want to make the web-site buzz with St David’s news. And don’t be put off by posh words like ‘tutorial’, because if you’ve ever written an email, you will be able to write a news item for our web-site. I for one, would like to know what the kids get up to in kids club or the latest from the youth group or what really goes on in Ladies’ Guild. It would be wonderful if our web-site was the place to go to not only for our own church news but for all things Ponty and even beyond and so please give your names to Cerys today.
