This Evening we are the hosts for the Uniting Churches Service when we will welcome our friends from Canton, Cowbridge, Llanederyn and Taffs Well. Our good friend, the Moderator of URC Wales Synod, otherwise known as Simon, will be leading our service.
All are invited to join us for refreshments in the hall following the service.

Church Family News
Mark’s father Lyndon had his operation on Saturday, no update yet!
We continue to pray for Jayne Brights’ father, Katie Morgan, not as well as she would like to be, Lyn & Graham and Enyd who has been unwell.
Congratulations to Rachel & Robert Jones on the birth of Zac, he weighs 8lb 9oz! All are fine
Belated News from Canada….received 3 weeks ago…Colleen (finally) received her GCSE scores, she was quite pleased and in some cases did better than she imagined, especially given the different curriculum. She went to bed last night, (GCSE scores on her night stand) wearing her Ponty High shirt. On the first day of school, when I asked how she felt she replied, “Oh, I’m fine…but I’d be happier if I was going back to Ponty.” She and Katherine keep in touch with their friends and of course we all miss you all!
Colleen sends her appreciation for your interest and support, felt all the way in Vancouver.

The time we have at our disposal every day is elastic; the passions that we feel expand it, those that we inspire contract it; and habit fills up what remains. Marcel Proust

I am learning quite a few things in Septembers Reform.
In an interview with a former Mormon I get an insight into a faith that I know little about and learn about the doctrines of the ‘Eternal Family’ and of ‘Pre-Existence’.
Also, at the URC headquarters in London there is a blue plaque to Ernest Boulton and Frederick Park, who were ‘Victorian cross dressers’. Their story is very interesting and worth reading. Please ‘borrow’ a copy which can be found on the back table if you would like to read more. Cerys
It is the time of year for Annual donations and for boxes to be handed in: Please give them to Pat Howell during the next few weeks.
