We warmly welcome all who join us for worship today. If you are a visitor or worshipping with us for the first time you are especially welcome.
Both our services are being led by Rev Eryl Williams formerly of Cilfynydd but now Minister in Pontlottyn. Eryl is no stranger to the evening congregation, but this will be the first time she has led our morning worship. We look forward to a day of fellowship with her.
Fair-trade tea and coffee will be served after this morning’s service and we invite you to join in this time of informal fellowship..

Message from Chris. I am so glad to be home after my extended stay in hospital. Can’t find where I’ve put things and so some things remain a mystery!
I would like to express my most sincere thanks to you all for your kind wishes, cards, letters and visits. They have all helped me along my journey. Most of all I would like to thank you all for your prayers as without these and my faith I don’t think I would be here today
I hope it won’t be too long until I see you all in Church again. Kind regards Chris

Church Kitchen news – we are now able to start applying for grants.
Work is progressing on the Manse and there will be an ‘open day’ when it is finished. It was suggested that people bring a non perishable gift so that we will have a small hamper to welcome Phil
Vaughan reminded us that we had reviewed the eldership and its role in the life of the church so that we have a clear and firm foundation by which the church will be served and our new minister supported. We have begun to live out our ‘Bigger Vision’ with Picturing Ponty, and it will be an inspiration for us to build on. It was an example of how we can reach out beyond the life of this church and touch the lives of many in the community and reminded us that we can do it. He said that to remember we are making tomorrow’s traditions today, to honour the past but don’t be bound by it. As individuals we are all limited in what we can achieve on our own but together we can do so much more. We should be proud that we have been called to be an ‘open and inclusive Church’ at a time when the world is troubled by narrow and fundamentalist approaches to religion.

Thought for the Week
Have your goals become so all-consuming that life has lost its joyful quality, and become one emergency and deadline after another? Everyone is trying to ‘catch up’. Sometimes the architect of the stress is you. Life will go on wonderfully even if it doesn’t follow your plan.
