12 January 2014
We welcome everyone who joins us for worship today, either at Church House this morning or in Church this evening. If you are a visitor or worshipping with us for the first time you are especially welcome
Our good friend Father Andrew Davies, is leading both our services today and we pray that, through him and with him, we may be made aware of God’s message to us all.
Tea and coffee will be served after this morning’s service, and the Traidcraft stall will be open. Please take time to see what is on sale, and support fair-trade.

Dates for your Diary
Wednesday 15th January Ladies Guild
This week we will have a visit from Dan Curtiss of The Air Ambulance Service. The ‘Service’ provides invaluable help to people in need, come along to our meeting at 2pm and find out what they have to deal with!
Saturday 22nd March, URC Spring Synod
This is OUR opportunity to influence the agenda of the Synod meeting of which our church is part, by suggesting agenda items that are relevant to us. Suggestions don’t need to be major issues, or serious issues, but things which are important to us at the moment. This is a good opportunity to share good news stories of what we have been involved in. This is a day for ALL ages and will be held in Cardiff.
Make a note of the date NOW, we could make it a Church Family Day!
Thursday 3rd to Sunday 6th July. URC General Assembly
The General Assembly will be held at St. David’s Hall, Cardiff.
For the General Assembly to run as smoothly as possible, they need people from local churches to help in two ways:
1. As Stewards
Four or five stewards are needed for each session of General Assembly. This will take the form of being available to direct people, respond to questions, hand out printed materials and generally be available. As people and arrive and leave, most stewards will need to be on their feet; outside those times there will be quieter periods to sit.
2. As Intercessors
The organizers are hoping to find two people to pray for the Assembly from within the Assembly at each session. This will take the form of quiet private prayers; not spoken public prayers. Seating within the Assembly will be provided for intercessors.
The sessions are from 8.30-13.00 and 13.00-18.30
Unfortunately, travel expenses are not available for stewards and intercessors, but refreshments (including lunch) will be available.
Can YOU help? Give your name and the time you are available to Marcia.
