We welcome you all to our service today, especially if you are a visitor or are worshipping with us for the first time. Today we have the third in our series of
discussion services looking at ‘Holy Habits’.
These services, held once every 2 months, enable us to learn from others; to talk about our faith in a safe space; and to dig a little deeper at the central practices of the Church.
They also remind us that we all have different learning & worship styles and that we are a community of learning where everyone’s opinion might be heard and valued.
So, whether you enjoy discussing your faith or do so with fear and trembling, please remember that there are no wrong answers and all are welcomed to participate as they feel comfortable. May God bless this time together.
All are invited to join us for tea or coffee, which will be served in the hall
following the morning service, when hand-made cards will also be on sale. We encourage you to join in this time of informal fellowship.
The Copper Pot is on the table; so, don’t take your ‘small change’ home
with you, put it in the pot, where it will be used for local charities.

News from abroad
We have all seen and heard about the Coronavirus in Wuhan. This was a city
where Mark worked before going to the USA. It was where he met Maggie, and
where Anna was born. A lack of medical supplies such as masks is now a big
problem, and more doctors are urgently needed. Thankfully, at the moment,
none of their family or immediate friends have been affected, but the disease
has a 10 day incubation period. Mark has sent this message. ‘ We ask that in
your prayers this Sunday, can you please include the people of Wuhan and all
those related to those suffering from the awful pain of this terrible tragedy,
and ask that the Lord bless those and the city of Wuhan with the strength and
wisdom to overcome this.’

This Week and in the future
Light for Our Loss. This afternoon, Phil will be leading a time of remembrance at
Castle Square URC. Between 4 and 6pm all are welcome to come and remember loved ones who are no longer with us. There will be an opportunity to light candles, leave messages, have a chat over a cuppa…and at 5pm there will be a
short service . If you would like the name of a loved one read out as part of that service, please speak with Phil.
The Ladies Guild diary for this week shows: ‘Surprise!!!’ – Marilyn & Phil.
The last time they were in charge of the meeting (just before Christmas) we
had an afternoon of fun as we played a new version of pass the parcel. So,
Ladies, be prepared to enjoy yourselves!
Our Church Meeting is on February 9th, following the morning service. The
minutes of the last meeting are on the notice board. The agenda will be
available before the meeting. One of the items will be ‘Environmental Issue and what we as a church can do!’ Ben’s report on the subject has been sent by
email to those we have addresses for. If you haven’t received it or would like a
paper copy please see Lynda.
The first meeting of Graigwen Book Club, will be on Monday 24th February at 7.30pm – the venue is still to be confirmed! If you are interested in joining the group please sign the sheet or let Phil know. The book to be read is
John Lanchester’s ‘The Wall’, longlisted for last year’s Booker prize.
Copies can be bought for £6 online, 2 for £12 at Waterstones or you
