Dates for your Diary
Wednesday 11th March Ladies Guild
Pontypridd Market is the subject this week. We will look back, with the aid of photographs, on the history of the market to how we see it today! A time to reminisce!.
Thursday 12th March Lenten Bible Study
St Catherine’s are hosting this week’s Bible Study, ‘Questioning, rebellion, redemption’. This week we walk and pray with the Christians of Iraq. We began our Lenten journey with a journey into the wilderness, now as we reach Week 4 we find the People of God in the desert and in rebellious mood. The long arduous journey had left them impatient. Their hope and dreams seemed to be ebbing away as they despised the food, were thirsty and could only see death looming ahead of them.
Friday 13th March Lent Lunch
This week’s Soup, Bread and Cheese lunch will be held at St David’s Church, Hopkinstown from 12 noon till 1.30pm Suggested donation £2.50. There will be a Fairtrade stall.
Saturday 14th March Comic Relief Coffee Bar
The Coffee Bar is an important part of our outreach. This week’s proceeds will ALL go to Comic Relief. Volunteers to make cakes are needed – we would particularly welcome ‘new’ cake makers– can YOU help by providing cakes once every three weeks? would be a great help to the regulars.
The new Rota to serve at coffee bar is on the wall in the hall.
Friday 28th March We Make Music

The programme will include; Elgar – Serenade for Strings, Grieg – Elegiac Melodies, Pergolesi – Flute Concerto Soloist: Berwyn Davies and Mozart -Symphonies No’s 6 and 15. Cytûn
Many will know that Rev Gethin Rhys took on the role of Cytûn’s new Policy Officer in January. Since he has been in office he has encouraged us to receive monthly bulletins. Copies of these in Welsh and English are on the table. Please take one.
Nominations for Eldership
The nomination forms and an information slip are available today, please take one, or more, and think about who you could nominate to serve as an Elder. The closing date is March 29th.
Help Required on March 28th
Iestyn’s ‘friends’ are giving their services free and will be rehearsing during the afternoon before the concert… It would be good to give them a special ‘St David’s’ welcome by providing them with refreshments: if you are able to help/contribute please speak to Marcia.
