17th March 2019
We welcome all who join us for worship today, as we gather for the second Sunday in lent. If you are a visitor or worshiping with us for the first time we pray that you will find peace, fellowship and be open to challenge as Phil leads us.
Our service will include the celebration of the Lord’s Supper and all are invited to share the bread and wine.
Our Film and Chat session this afternoon at 4pm will feature, as it is St Patrick’s Day, a drama which tells the true story of how a community hall became a centre for religious and political struggles in 1930’s Ireland.
Tea & Coffee will be served following the service and hand made cards will be on sale. Please stay and chat together.
Our ‘Copper Pot’ and Foodbank boxes are waiting for your donations.

Church Family and Pastoral News
Phil has sent our condolences and love to our church family in Christchurch following the awful shootings on Friday, including the reflection that it’s an horrific reminder of the importance to share a message of good news for all people, to make spaces to welcome and listen to the stranger, to love more fiercely, more passionately, more recklessly than ever.
People to hold in your thoughts and prayers:
- The Spragg family in Christchurch, New Zealand and their community, especially their Muslim brothers and sisters who were the targets.
- Stacey and Richard as they prepare for their wedding in the church on Saturday.
- ALL who are involved in meetings / services during Lent.
- Places in the world where there is no ‘safe water’ !.
- Those who are sharing their ministry with friends elsewhere: Ray at Castle Square.
Special Days this week
22 March World Water Day

April birthdays meal – As the month of April is nearing, Cerys (and others with a birthday in April) thought it might be a good idea to start having the birthday meal out, for those with birthdays in April (as mentioned at the Church Meeting) actually in April. The two possible dates suggested are Monday 8th April lunchtime and Palm Sunday 14th April lunchtime. The Monday lunch is likely to be hosted and the Sunday lunch will either be a ‘bring and share’ or lunch at the Heritage Park Hotel. You may be accompanied by one other person. If you have a birthday in April, please speak to Cerys for more details and to say whether you can come to either or both possible dates.

A Thought for Lent.
“There is no justification without sanctification, no forgiveness without renewal of life, no real faith from which the fruits of new obedience do not grow.”~ Martin Luther King
