12th March 2017 Second Sunday in Lent
We welcome everyone who joins us for worship this morning as we come to the end of our Intercultural Weekend. This morning our worship will be a classic Cymanfa Ganu alongside a few hymns that reflect the theme of the weekend.
We especially welcome Darya Brill Williams and Jonathan Gulliford, whose expertise will be put to the test as they take charge of our singing!
Tea and coffee will be served after this morning’s service, and handmade cards will be on sale, please join us for this time of informal fellowship.
We finalise our Intercultural Celebrations this afternoon with the screening of a fabulous family film which reminds us that we really are ‘Together. Stronger’. This will be a screening we share with some of our friends from Syria and South Sudan with whom we’ll enjoy refreshments afterwards. Film certificate: PG. English language with Arabic subtitles.
Before you go, don’t forget the Copper Pot. Please put your small change in the pot and it will go to local charities.

Swimathon Challenge for Marie Curie
Rev Sue Fender will tackle a 2.5km swim as part of the nationwide swimming challenge. The national event will take place 7th-9th April but Sue will be doing her swim at Penarth Leisure Centre on 15thApril. The money raised will provide care and support for people living with a terminal illness and their families. Sue did the challenge in 2012 and she raised £850.
Sue has Fibromyalgia, which is a complaint in the muscles, so it’s a personal challenge for her. she said “I didn’t think there was much point in doing something that I could just crawl out of bed and do, so I wanted that personal challenge and that’s part of my motivation for this year as well.” If you would like to sponsor Sue speak to Marcia or visit www.justgiving.com/fundraising/swimathon-2017-Suefenderswim or
