Church Family News
Many will have already heard that Katie Morgan passed away in hospital on Tuesday. Katie was a part of the ecumenical partnership in Glyncoch before joining the congregation at Pontypridd United Church. She will be remembered by many for her cheeky sense of humour. Katie had been unable to worship with us for a while – our services were too early in the day for her! – but she appreciated being kept up to date with Church News. Those who visited Katie or met her when she was shopping would often leave with a smile on their face, she was a tonic to many – we will miss her. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family. Her funeral will be held at Glyntaf on Wednesday at 12 noon.
Golden Invitation ‘You are invited by Valerie & John Henson to a “Do” at St David’s Uniting Church, Pontypridd on Saturday 19th July from 5.30pm –9.00pm to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary and the 50th Anniversary of John’s Ordination. Thanks – Brian wishes to share the good news that he has been given the ‘all clear’ by his consultant and says ‘thank you’ to everyone for the prayers and support he has received during the last 2 ¾ years.
Prayer request. Elinor has been offered a job with a Christian charity called Koinonia (‘community’ in Greek) which works with students within the University of London. She has been actively involved with their outreach over the past three years, and is very excited to be in this post for a minimum 2 years. Her role will be pastoral, working mainly with the women in the outreach. As the job is only 24 hours a week, she is asking for our prayers as she searches for a complementary part time job over the summer. Elinor also says ‘Thank you for your support over the years!’
