Drinking from many wells…
The Holy Wells of Wales
We had the idea of weaving through chicken wire to make the sea, which was like a motorway in the time of the
Celtic saints, linking Brittany, Cornwall, Wales, Ireland and Scotland. The Celtic saints established a community, or llan, near a well or spring. Their tradition of spirituality and action is a deep well on which to draw.
St David’s Uniting is a local ecumenical partnership of Baptist, Presbyterian Church of Wales and United Reformed Churches. More wells of tradition on which to draw.
Various members of St David’s Uniting Church, Pontypridd, have helped to produce this collage, and they helped the children of the Kids’ Club to be involved in the weaving and sticking on the wells. Some of the wells are springs – living water – like the Spirit. The intergenerational work that produced this is part of the on-going life of the church.
If you look carefully at the wells, you will see yourself. We also drink from our own wells, as well as those from the past.
and …………..WE WON!!
When I saw the collage on Cerys’s FB I was impressed, but to have won!! Well done children and helpers. Congratulations.
