21 January 2018
We welcome you all to our services today, especially if you are a visitor or worshipping with us for the first time.
Our Service this morning is being led by Iestyn. We are grateful to him for stepping in at quite short notice as Rev Andrew Davies was unable to keep the date due to family illnesses.
The service will include the celebration of the Lord’s Supper, and all are invited to share in the bread and wine.
This afternoon at 4pm you are invited to join us for the first Film and Chat session of 2018. (see This Week)
Fair-trade tea and coffee will be served in the hall after this the service; we invite you to enjoy some light refreshments in the company of friends.
A large selection of handmade greetings cards will also be on sale. There are cards for all occasions!
Our ‘Copper Pot’ is on the table waiting for your ‘small change’, the money is donated to ‘local’ charities; if you have any suggestions for a worthy charity please tell Claire Hughes.

Church Family and Pastoral News
We include this in the newssheet to inform our prayers during the week. This week we ask you to remember the family Rev Andrew Davies and other pastoral concerns. Please pray also for those who add to the services in church: the organists, Cantorion, the readers, the flower arrangers, those who prepare and serve communion, Junior Church staff, those who give a welcome at the door, and coffee makers. Ray as he leads worship at Castle Square.
While the minister is on holiday please pass on Pastoral news to an elder or to Marcia by email whilst she is in the Spanish office.

‘Abraham: A Journey Through Lent’ by Dr Meg Warner is our Lent book for 2018. The book costs £7.
It is a story of journeying, of challenges, of false turns and unbelievable promises; experience their relevance to your own faith and the world we live in, and finally, encounter a God whose love and faithfulness covers all our disbelief, our mistakes and our own faithlessness, and whose promises always come to fulfilment. Meg will be giving a lecture at our church on the evening of March 28th. Sign-up for the book TODAY.
The Church Meeting agreed to ask the URC Listed Buildings Advisory Committee for permission to raise the balustrade of the gallery.
