On Sunday 8th December, Phil Wall, a ministerial student at Cambridge preached with a view. After the service, we met with him over lunch, followed by a question and answer session. At the church meeting on Monday 9th, we voted by ballot to call Phil to the share ministry of St David’s Uniting Church and Castle Square URC, Treforest.
The Great News is that Phil has accepted our invitation!
The following is a short extract from Phil’s letter of acceptance:
‘Over the last couple of months, I have spent much time praying and reflecting upon my future ministry and, as I have already communicated to you, the genuinely loving welcome that I experienced at both churches and sense of a shared understanding of worship, mission and theology, alongside the stunning scenery, enthusiastic calling and wonderful hospitality, meant that I did not have a hard decision to make.
I very much look forward to working alongside you, the two churches, and the wider communities of the United Reformed Church’s National Synod of Wales, Presbyterian Church of Wales and South Wales Baptist Association.’
We can look foward to Phil joining us once he has finished his training in late August/early September 2014.
