Welcome to our services today. A special welcome if you are worshipping with us for the first time. Phil, our minister, is leading our service this morning which will include the celebration of the Lord’s Supper, when all are invited to share in the bread and wine.
Our Evening service will be led by Rev Ray Vincent.
Fairtrade tea and coffee will be served following the morning service and cards will also be on sale. As usual the copper pot is on the table waiting for your ‘small change’, which will benefit local charities.

Church Family News
As Phil has been our Minister for almost six months we give thanks for his ministry and pray for his continuing presence amongst us with enthusiastic support from the congregation.
We continue to hold those who mourn in our prayers, especially Marlene whose husband’s funeral will be held on Monday.

Dates for your Diary
Monday 16th February Valentine’s Screening:
Our next monthly ‘film & chat’ evening falls this Monday at 7pm. The film, certificate 12, is a light, sometime irreverent high school rom-com which should still inspire some interesting discussion about perceptions of Christianity today.
Wednesday 18th February Ladies Guild
Our Guest speaker this week is Pat Johnson, and we ask the question What does she do in that shed?‘ We will find out when we meet at 2pm.
Friday 20th February Lent Lunches 2015
The first of the Soup, Bread and Cheese lunches to support Christian Aid will be held at St Dyfrigs, Treforest from 12 noon till 1.30pm Suggested donation £2.50. There will be a Fairtrade stall.
Saturday 21st February A ‘Special’ Coffee Morning
Iestyn & Darren’s Coffee, Cake & Craft Morning in aid of their Macmillan Cancer Support London Marathon Challenges 10am till 12.30 pm with Craft & Bric a Brac Stalls. Pick up a flyer today and pass it on to a friend.
Wednesday 25th February Cultural Trip
For our next monthly cultural trip we are going to see ‘Selma’ – a multi-Oscar nominated account of Martin Luther King’s campaign for equal rights in America. This month, we will try out ‘Chapter’ in Cardiff and those attending are encouraged to meet in the foyer by 5:45, with the option for a meal and post-film chat after the screening.

Church Meeting News
There was a great turn out at our first trial of a meeting post-worship where the following was agreed upon/announced:
- Lent Bible Studies on the theme of ‘Christians in the Middle East’ will commence on Thursday 19th February at 7:30pm in the Victoria Room
- Holy week services will be shared with St Catherine’s, who will join us for the Good Friday service. More details to come.
- Worship Group meeting February 23rd at the Manse. Open to All
- All are invited to the local synod meeting at Elfed Avenue, Penarth, 11-4pm on Saturday 28th February. Please speak to Phil or Marcia if you’d like to join us!
- Church meetings 2015 – Monday 13th April, 7:30pm, Monday 1st June (AGM), 7:30pm and 18th October after morning worship.
- Kitchen renovation will begin in mid to late April. Exact dates TBC
- More details of all things discussed/decided to be found in the minutes which will be posted on the notice board next week.

RCT Online survey
The Rhondda Cynon Taf Community Safety Partnership has designed and prepared an annual Anti Social Behaviour perception Survey that is focused for now on Pontypridd and Aberdare town centre. BBC Celebration Recordings:
Following worship on the 15th and 22nd of February, there will be a 15 minute rehearsal of the songs to be sung for the BBC recordings for those who are able to stay. The actual recording will take place February 22nd 5 – 8pm so please support this if you can. These are the songs.
