12th February 2017
We extend a warm welcome to everyone who joins us for worship today, especially if you are a visitor or worshipping with us for the first time.
Following our recent reflection on Christian Unity, this morning, Phil is leading worship at Salem Baptist Church, Tonteg, whilst we get to welcome Revd Dr Rosa Hunt to lead us in worship.
Rosa grew up on the island of Malta which is where she acquired her lifelong love of languages (and sunshine!), and also where she acquired the roots of a deep spirituality. She joined an evangelical Anglican church while at university in Cambridge studying Natural Sciences. Rosa, along with her husband and 4 sons moved to Wales in 2006 and began training for ministry at South Wales Baptist College. Rosa also enjoys lecturing part time at Cardiff University with SWBC. Rosa longs for herself, her family, her congregation and her community to experience the ever-increasing life and hope which is on offer through Jesus Christ.
At 4pm this afternoon, Phil will be leading us in our viewing and discussion of a quirky comedy-drama which takes a sideways look at love and loss (certificate 12).
Fairtrade tea and coffee will be served after this morning’s service, and homemade cards will be on sale. We encourage you to join in this time of informal fellowship.
Don’t forget – the Copper pot is on the table waiting for your coppers!
Hymns 467, Beauty for brokenness, 56.
Readings John 15:1-17, 1 Cor 12:12-27
