21st April 2019
Welcome, everyone who joins us for worship on this glad day. We pray that, with Phil & Julie leading us, we may all know the joy of Christ’s risen presence and go on our way rejoicing.
Our service this morning includes the celebration of the Lord’s Supper, and we invite everyone to share in the Bread and Wine with us.
This evening, at 6pm, we meet at Church House to prepare for our Emmaus Walk as we recognise God in our lives and return to share in communion together.
Fairtrade Tea and Coffee will be served in the hall following our morning worship: all are invited to join us and catch up on chat with friends.
The Foodbank boxes and Copper Pot are in the usual places where your donations can be placed.

Ministers Matters
From Phil: A huge thanks to all those who led, attended and supported our stations of the cross exhibition and accompanying evening service this week. What a week we’ve had and it’s only possible because of the work of many hands. Diolch yn fawr!
After a busy Holy Week Phil and Julie will both be on annual leave in this coming week. Please speak to the secretary or your church elder if anything urgent is needed while they’re away.

Church Family and Pastoral News
People to hold in your thoughts and prayers:
- We are delighted to say that John D is now ‘home’ and he is happy to be with Jean in their new home!
- Phil and Julie as they relax after an extremely busy week!
- We think of all our friends across the world as they celebrate Easter Sunday in their faith communities.”
- We remember those who ‘work’ every Sunday: the organists, Cantorion, the readers, the flower arrangers, Junior Church staff, those who give a welcome at the door, and coffee makers
- Those who are sharing their ministry with friends elsewhere: Ray at Trinity Pontywaun in the morning
Peter DeJong writes “God’s blessing to the congregation at St. David’s Uniting! With all our Love!”
Thanks. ‘Margaret and Chris say, thank you everyone for your good wishes and cards on the occasion of our Golden Wedding Anniversary. They were very much appreciated.

Notices
Libera Me – Clouds will pass with time, the sun will rise once more. More shadows will be cast, darker days will again be survived. But each time memories will be longer: we will sit with our bread and with our wine, and celebrate the return of day.
An Easter Sunday poem by Chris Fosten, friend of the church who led some of our Good Friday meditations in 2015. Chris is with us this morning and is happy to sign and sell copies of his first published collection – ‘Post-It Poems’. £10.

Thought for the Week
I think we need to do some deep soul searching about what’s important in our lives and renew our spirit and our spiritual thinking, whether it’s through faith-based religion or just through loving nature or helping your fellow man.
