We welcome all who join us for worship this morning, the fourth Sunday in Advent. If you are a visitor or worshiping with us for the first time you are especially welcome.
The Junior Church are helping us to find out what’s occurring as we head to Bethlehem for our nativity service.
Cinema Trip! If you’re in the mood for a bit of Christmas schmaltz with a fab soundtrack, why not join us to watch ‘Last Christmas’ at Showcase, Nantgarw this afternoon? Film starts at 2:10pm so join us for a pre-film coffee at 1:30pm or in the foyer by 2pm.
Handmade Christmas cards will be on sale after the service, and tea and coffee will be served.
As usual the Copper pot is on the table waiting for your coppers, which will eventually benefit local charities

Communion 23.15 We gather at the church house on the hill for a chance to contemplate the wonder of this special night.
Service 10.30 All age worship as we remember the true meaning of Christmas. Bring your toys to show and tell!
Carols and Lessons at 10.45 A chance to pause and praise at the end of the busy Christmas season.

- People who may be spending Christmas in hospital.
- All the recipients of the ‘Angels’ which have the message: “Look at God’s beauty around and above, we bring you God’s peace and a bundle of love.” Nadolig Llawen. St David’s Uniting Church.
- Those who will be alone during the Christmas season.
- Ray who as he leads worship at Zion, Ynysybwl on Christmas Day.Those of our fellowship who will be away for Christmas.
- All the people who rely on the Foodbank to be able to eat.
- Those who have nowhere to sleep and will struggle to find food.
- Phil as he finishes his preparations for another busy week!
This Week and in the future
On 5th January at 6pm we will have an Epiphany Bring and Share. Join us for poems, prayers and pastries. All are welcome to bring something to share,
either to read or eat!
Our Anniversary lunch (Carvery with optional dessert) will be held on 12th January at the Heritage Park. The cost is £8.95 for one course and £11.95 for 2. Please give your deposit of £5 per person to Marcia TODAY.
Book Club. We are in the stages of organizing a book club for the New Year. The plan is to meet every 2 months with our first meeting being at 7pm on February 24th (location tbc) where we will discuss ‘The Wall’ by John Lanchester....a perfect gift for you last minute buyers!
This December we have received 67.1 kgs of food! The only time we have collected more was at Harvest time! Alan also received £130. These donations will hopefully help many people have a better Christmas.
Please check the Card sorter for ‘your’ mail AND if you can deliver cards to people who are unable to worship with us please do so.

Our Christmas appeal for Displaced People in Action (DPIA), and Chora Chori, will remain ‘open until 31st December. If you can gift aid please put your name or number on the envelope. If you have already donated and forgot to put your name/number speak to Anne Coles. The charities will receive an extra 25p for every £1 donated.
There are still some Offertory Envelopes on the table, please collect yours today and if you can deliver envelopes to someone who is not able to collect them please do. If you would like to use envelopes for your weekly offering please speak to Anne Coles.
BMS have sent a letter of thanks for our Harvest donation of £500 to their South Sudan Conflict Survivors appeal.
We have received notification from Sainsbury’s that £139.17 was donated to Christian Aid by shoppers while we sang carols last Monday. We had an incredible turnout with 36 people making up our ‘choir’. Thankyou to you all!
