Notices
As we start to receive Christmas cards, please remember to save the postage stamps and put them in the box, they will then be recycled to raise funds for Amnesty International.
Thankyou to everyone who responded to our appeal last month; you gave a total of 34.9 kgs of food plus £5, this was gratefully received. The need is still urgent as Christmas approaches, so please continue to buy just one extra item per week and place it in the box in the hall.
The Christmas Cards Greetings Board is in place – you are invited to ‘post’ a single card to all your friends in church and give a donation to Charity. For those who wish to send individual cards the card sorter is also in place. Please remember to check for ‘YOUR’ mail and if there are cards for people you can deliver to.
Gift Sunday is next Sunday. Envelopes for donations to our Christmas appeals are on the table, if you can Gift Aid please put your name on the envelope.
Update on Cristina’s (Cristian’s daughter) treatment. Her second month of treatment (intravenous steroid injections) started on November 28th. Already the treatment has shown signs of being very effective as Cristina has not needed the regular blood transfusions that she was having. The doctor even allowed her to go to the Kindergarden on December 1st, the Romanian national Day. She is also generally feeling better and happier.
Three further months minimum are, according to the doctor, needed. Our aim will be to try to provide the three months. Each month costs £1200 pounds.
Cristian keeps in regular contact with Viviane and sends photos which we are more than welcome to see.

Thought for the Week
Christmas is a tall green tree which serves as festive altar for any household which discovers the true meaning behind it all.
Christmas is a ringing bell calling a distraught humanity to gladness and hope.
