We welcome everyone to our services today; we especially welcome Revd’s Andrew and Irene Davies.
Andrew will be leading our worship, and Irene who has not been in good health recently is here to support him. They have recently moved to a new retirement complex which will enable Irene lead a more independent life that will benefit both of them! We wish them well in their new home.
If you are a visitor or worshipping with us for the first time, you too are most welcome and we hope you will return again.
This afternoon Cellikattesen will be holding an ‘open rehearsal’ Concert in the Sanctuary from 2pm. All are welcome to come along and listen.
Our evening worship at 6pm, will be a Summer Compline at Church House.
Fair-trade tea and coffee will be served after this morning’s service, we invite everyone to join us for a ‘cuppa and a chat’ in the company of friends. Hand- made greetings cards will also be on sale.
The Copper Pot is, on the table; so don’t take your ‘small change’ home with you, put it in the pot, where it will be used for local charities.

Notices
Building work!!
After months of waiting the repairs to the ‘back’ wall and the Hall roof are going to start! Scaffolding will be in place from 29th August. Access to the sanctuary will be from through the door on Gelliwastad Road for the duration of the work. The hall access will not be affected. There will no disruption to services or meetings.
This weekend, Phil is taking one of his 6 leave Sundays to attend the Greenbelt Christian Festival where he’ll be talking about the relationships we’ve been building with our refugee friends.
Our series on Christianity and mental health will continue on September 10th and 17th, if anyone would like to offer a reflection – a word, prayer, poem, advice, expression of frustration, whatever it might be – on this issue, please put it in the box at the back labelled ‘Mental Health Reflections’ or email Phil directly. Contributions can be anonymous.
Our donations to the Foodbank for August are yet to be reported, but it was hoped that with the school holidays creating a greater demand more people would donate!
There is an urgent need for tinned meat.
As has been said before just one item per household per week would make a huge difference! If you can’t get to the shops money is also accepted, and can be given to Alan.

Something to ponder!
“The are only two ways to handle tense situations:
you can change them, or you can change the way you look at them.
There is enlightenment to be had in changing the way you look at things”.
“The Little Book Of Calm” by Paul Wilson (1996)
