Church Family and Pastoral News
We include this in the newsletter to inform our prayers during the week.
- Our thoughts and prayers are with Sue Skym and the family as her son, Matthew (57) died suddenly on Tuesday morning while travelling on the A470.
- Please keep Marcia, Martyn, Sian, Jessica, Sarah and Mark in your prayers as they gather to say a final farewell to Brian. The service will be held in the church on Thursday 13th at 2pm, followed by cremation at Glyntaf at 3pm. No black attire please. The service in St David’s will be live streamed on this link https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1ftWuXHexnfFdo1FKwXBZA For anyone wishing to join the service at Glyntaf it will be on the Obitus website https://watch.obitus.com – enter the username and password. - John Davies was persuaded to go into hospital end at May as his chest was not good and Jean Davies is having breathing difficulties because of a heart problem. We hold them both in our prayers.
- Jane Jones has been unwell with Bronchitis; we hope she recovers sufficiently in time for the cruise she and Hywel are due to go on next week as an early celebration for their Diamond Wedding.
- Jayne and Roger have been ill since returning from holiday, we hope they recover quickly
- Sue Walkling had a fall at home and spent two days in hospital, she has been advised not to drive. We pray for her recovery.
- This Friday Bethan and Ianto will be walking 30 miles in a day (see below) – we pray for them.

Do you have a special moment or event you’d like everyone to know about relating to your time at St David’s Uniting? During the service we would like to include memories of people’s time at Gelliwastad Rd and also Carmel and St David’s Presbyterian. Do you have any photos that relate to the church events prior to our uniting? If you have anything you’d like to share, let your elder know.

Thought for the Week
“We shrink from change; yet is there anything that can come into being without it?
What does nature hold dearer or more proper to herself?
Could you have a hot bath unless the firewood underwent some change?
Could you be nourished if the food suffered no change?
Is it possible for any useful thing to be achieved without change?”
“Meditations” by the Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius (AD 121-180)
