9 February 2014
We welcome you all to our services today, If you are a visitor or worshipping with us for the first time, we hope you will feel ‘at home’ with us and return again soon.
We give a warm welcome to Fr Andrew Davies, who is leading our services today, Andrew is now an ‘old’ friend and we are very pleased that he will be sharing his thoughts with us today.
Fair-trade tea and coffee will be served after this morning’s service, and handmade cards will be on sale. Please stop and enjoy a ‘cuppa’ in the company of friends.
The Copper Pot is on the table; so please, don’t take your ‘small change’ home with you, put it in the pot, where it will be used for local charities.

Dates for your Diary
Wednesday 12th February Ladies Guild
This week we will welcome our ‘neighbour’ Rev Peter Lewis of St Catherine’s as our guest speaker. What he is going to speak about we do not know – but we are assured that it will be an enjoyable afternoon so come along to the Victoria Room by 2pm and join in the ‘fun’
Saturday 22nd March, URC Spring Synod
This is OUR opportunity to influence the agenda of the Synod meeting of which our church is part. It is also a good opportunity to share good news stories of what we have been involved in. This is a day for ALL ages and will be held in Cardiff. Make a note of the date NOW!
Friday 28th March ‘Ponty’ Churches Social
We have accepted the invitation from St Catherine’s to join them for the Social Evening they are organizing which will be held in our hall – making use of the stage. We have been asked to provide three items for the ‘show’ – do we have any volunteers? We will also be providing something savoury for the buffet.
There will be a charge of £2.00 per person, (free for children) and the proceeds will be split between Christains against Poverty and Namatala, a Primary School in Mbale.
Thursday 3rd to Sunday 6th July. URC General Assembly
The General Assembly will be held at St. David’s Hall, Cardiff. For the General Assembly to run as smoothly as possible, they need people from local churches to help in two ways:
As Stewards: to direct people, respond to questions, hand out printed materials and generally be available.
As Intercessors: to pray for the Assembly from within the Assembly at each session.
The sessions are from 8.30-13.00 and 13.00-18.30
Can YOU help? Give your name and time you are available to Marcia.
We need to respond by the end of this month so that rota’s can be planned – Is anyone able to help?
