9th April 2017 Palm Sunday
We offer a warm welcome to everyone who joins us on this special day, when we remember Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
Our Service this morning will be led by our Minister with assistance from Sarah and Richard. We ask for God’s blessing on them, and us as we join together in fellowship.
This Afternoon at 4pm we will be watching and discussing a musical take on the events of Holy Week. Certificate (PG)
Fair-trade tea and coffee will be served after this morning’s service; and hand-made cards will also be on sale, we invite you to enjoy some light refreshments in the company of friends.
Please remember the copper pot and put those unwanted ‘coppers’ in the pot. They will be put to good use by local charities.
Hymns 153, 329, 435, 545
Readings Psalm 118:1-2, 19-29; Matthew 21:1-11
Church Family News
We heard last Sunday the Simon was had been admitted to hospital, we are very pleased to say that he was discharged on Tuesday and all is well, he will have a check up in 6 weeks. Eirwen is still in hospital on ward 6; she is still classed at requiring ‘barrier nursing’ but is allowed visitors. We continue to remember those have had the results of tests and are now having, or waiting for treatment or are still waiting for a date for surgery.
We pray for them and all who are unable to leave their homes. Not everyone is able to be a ‘visitor’ but sometimes a phone call would be most welcome!

Kid’s Club Lent Project
The final week’s challenge was to bring tins of Soup or Tomatoes and 18.8kg were taken to the Foodbank. We will announce the Grand total next week, when there should be photographs in the hall.
If 16 plus children can achieve that, how much could we in this church achieve if everyone contributed just ONE item every week?

On Good Friday at 6.30 pm on BBC Radio Wales you can hear Beverley’s Good Friday Meditation – words and music reflecting on the meaning of the cross as a symbol of love.
If you miss it you can find it on the iPlayer for the next 30 days.
Some News from the Church Meeting
Service changes. As the Evening service on Easter day will be at Church House and will include communion, it was decided that the service on 23rd April would be held in Church and would not include communion.
Copper Pot. The contents of the pot – £119 – will be donated to the University Chaplaincy.
Affirmation of new Members. We were delighted to learn that Zelda Smith and Toby Gate wished to become members. A service will take place on June11th.
Citizens Cymru. Campaign for injustice in the world. This was previously discussed in October when the decision was – ‘Not ready to sign up yet but wish to find out more.’ The proposal presented to the meeting was to see what we could do to improve the Mental Health Care in our area. This will initially involve a questionnaire. A vote was taken and the majority were in favour of paying the £500 and signing up for 1year. The situation would then be reviewed. We will learn more in the coming months.
