We welcome you all to our services today, the second Sunday in Advent and our ‘Gift Sunday’, as we bring our gifts for the Mill Street Hostel & Homestart and our monetary gifts which this year will be shared between ShareDydd and Enkiteng Lepa School in Maji Moto.
Special gift envelopes are on the table.
Our morning worship will be led Iestyn Henson as Phil is leading worship at Castle Square.
This afternoon at 3pm we will be hosting a Christmas party for our Syrian friends and all are welcome to join in the festivities which will include the screening of a family film and possibly a visit from a man dressed in red who gets busy at this time of year! If you would like to join us please bring some food to share. Ideas and a sign-up sheet are at the back.
This evening at 6pm we are invited to join the Civic Carol Service at St Catherine’s.
Fairtrade tea and coffee will be served after this morning’s service and the Traidcraft stall will also be open, and handmade cards will be on sale, do take this opportunity to see what is available.
Please remember the Copper Pot, and put your loose change in it before you leave, it will be used to benefit local charities.

Church Family and Pastoral News

A service of thanksgiving for the life of Gethin Abraham Williams will be held on Thursday, 8th December at Trinity Methodist Church, Penarth, at 4.30 p.m.

Dates for your Diary
Wednesday 7th December Ladies Guild
This week at 2pm we will entertain each other with our Advent Housewives choice, as we share amusing tales and poems with each other and sing a few of our favourite carols. All welcome to join us.
Saturday 10th December Free concert
This a chance to hear the Glam Youth Choir, who rehearse in the church. They are well worth a listening! Light refreshment will be served in hall after the concert.
Sunday 11th December Carols Service
We are invited to join our friends at Castle Square URC for their Carols Service at 3pm.

Notices
Town Churches Carol Service – Peace on Earth.
In St David’s Uniting!! We only host this every 4 years so we appeal to ALL who are free to come along and share the joy of Christmas with our friends from other Town Churches. Volunteers are needed to help with the refreshments after the service, to be welcomers on the door or stewards in the balcony. Sign up sheet at the back!
Open the Book
We have a team of volunteers taking bible stories to schools – we also need help in gathering together the necessary props and costumes, suitable dressing up clothes for adults and children, –(Biblical themes only please!) or material suitable for making into costumes or indeed any costume making skills. If YOU can help in any way please contact Pam Mahoney.
PCW Mission Appeal
Our contributions to PCW Mission Fund are now due, anyone wishing to give please see Maralyn (T) or Lynda.
Christmas Cards
The Greetings Board and card sorter are in place. You are invited to pin your card to the church family, on the board and give a donation to charity. If you can deliver cards to people who are unable to worship with us please do so.
Used Postage stamps
As we start to receive Christmas cards, please remember to save the postage stamps and put them in the box, they will then be recycled to raise funds for Amnesty International.
