We welcome everyone to our Harvest Service today which is being led by Rev Dan Spragg, who is at the start of the second month of his pulpit exchange.
Our Harvest Appeal this year is items for Pontypridd Foodbankand financial donations for The Tent of Nationsnear Bethlehem. Gift Aid Envelopes are on the table
Fair-traded refreshments will be served in the hall following the morning Service when Handmade cards will also be on sale. Please join us.
We will join for our ‘Bring and Share Lunch from 1 o’clock
Don’t forget that the copper pot is on the table! Put your ‘coppers’ in there and they will be used by local charities.
This Evening at 5pm we will have the opportunity to join Ruth Wilde and Peterson Toscano on Tour with ‘Everything is Connected’ (see This Week.)

This Week and in the Future……
TODAY at 5pm, Ruth Wilde and Peterson Toscano will be presenting ‘Everything is Connected’: Pull just one strand in our world and see how deeply
it is connected to many others. In this entertaining and insightful presentation Ruth and Peterson join forces to reveal strange and often unseen connections in the world. Drawing on ancient stories, comedy, and insights from their travels
they weave together a tapestry that covers identity, LGBTQ issues, climate change, justice, peace and much much more.
The 18-30s ‘On Tap’ group meet to talk about life, the universe and everything over beer and nachos (or soft drinks and vegan snacks!) at The Otley Arms, Treforest at 7.30pm on Monday 1st October
Ladies Guild start their Autumn session on Wednesday at 2pm in the church with a guest from New Zealand! We look forward to welcoming Rev Dan Spragg to our meeting and learning a little about life in his New Zealand Church.
HARVEST APPEAL-The Tent of Nations – In 2014 Israeli bulldozers destroyed the terraces and more than 1500 apricot and apple trees as well as grape vines which had been planted 10 years before. Junior Church have designed Harvest mugs (there are 6 designs) to raise money for our Harvest Appeal this year. They cost £10. Why not get one for yourself!? There is a sheet at the back of the church for you to sign.
Seasons of the Spirit £6.50 – Now is the time to order this URC Prayer Handbook which contains material from a range of URC people – many of whom write for the Daily Devotions project. It gives two prayers for each Sunday of the year, based on the Revised Common Lectionary readings, which can be used in private devotion or in public worship – at £6.50 if you would like a copy please give your name to Marcia.
Christmas Cards! It’s that time of year again, if anyone would like to order a particular card for Christmas please let me have all orders by the end of October, to allow me enough time to make all the orders. General Christmas cards will be on sale from the beginning of November (hopefully). Thanks Colleen

The South Wales Baptist Association are looking for a new Association Administrator.
Applications are invited from those seeking a full or part-time role; a job share is a possibility.
The Association Administrator will be a member of the Association Team. He/She will be responsible for ensuring that the SWBA Office functions efficiently and delivers the administration support required for the Association to engage in mission and to achieve its goals. The Administrator will be the primary interface with the churches in the Association for communication and administrative matters.
This is a full-time appointment based on 37½ hours per week and carries a salary of £22,750 per annum. The closing date for applications is Friday 26th October 2018.
