30th April 2017
We welcome all who join us for our services today, especially if you are a visitor or worshipping with us for the first time, and we pray that we may all experience something of God’s love for us.
We are especially pleased to welcome Rev Peter Noble who is leading our worship this morning.
Peter is the Chaplain of Cardiff Bay Local Ecumenical Partnership.
He was Minister of Van Road URC Caerphilly before taking the post of Moderator of the URC Wales Synod, which he handed over to Rev Simon Walkling in September 2012.
As this is the fifth Sunday there is no Evening Worship
Fair-trade tea and coffee will be served after this morning’s service, we invite you to enjoy a ‘cuppa and a chat’ in the company of friends. Hand- made greetings cards will also be on sale.
The Copper Pot is, on the table; so don’t take your ‘small change’ home with you, put it in the pot, where it will be used for local charities.

Church Family News and General News
We ask your prayers for Alma and the family as her husband Stan has had a stroke and was in Prince Charles Hospital, but is now at home.
We remember also John Davies and other known to us who have been unwell or who have recently had surgery.
We wish Daniel Thomas and the family well as they prepare to move house, they will not be far away and will still be in touch.
Think, Pray, Vote. In the weeks leading up to the General Election, the Joint Public Issues Team is offering reflections and balanced analysis to support Christians and local churches as they engage with the issues at stake. http://ow.ly/Ri4r30bfQNI This is a four page document. Notices
Preparing for the AGM
The date is 24th July….still a long way off! BUT it is good to start thinking about it…..there are reports to prepare…..the deadline for them to be received in time for printing is just over 7 weeks away!! Will there be an election of Elders?? We need to pray and think about the AGM!
Birthday Cards
Colleen is taking a holiday the last two weeks of May so although cards will still be on sale during this time, no new card will be added so stock may become a bit depleted. Any orders that have already been requested will be completed before she goes BUT Colleen is unable to take any more orders until she returns.
News Sheet
Next week’s news (7th May) will once again be compiled in the ‘Spanish Office’ – so please send any items to office1.sduc@gmail.com or if you don’t have email access tell your Elder.

Thought for the Week
In the busy shopping precinct, I find the Father,
In the street above the traffic’s roar, I hear the Son,
In the smoke-filled club, I meet the Spirit,
Blessed Three, present in human company ANON.
