News from the Church Meeting
URC ‘Big Day Out’ 2nd July at the Royal Welsh Showground. Every URC church in Wales has received a bag in which we can place items to represent the journey we have been on or perhaps, hope to go on… …we will learn more about this in the coming weeks. Transport to the event will be free.
Beverley Humphreys was congratulated on her new appointment as the Wales Racial Justice and Multicultural Advocate for URC.
Fifth Sunday evenings – as we have not been able to support the ‘united’ services the decision was taken that there would be no evening service at St David’s on fifth Sundays.
John Bell – well known hymn writer, will visit Pontypridd on July 10th at the invitation of St Catherine’s, we have been invited to join the congregation for the 11am service.
Same Sex Marriage – as our church cannot legally conduct such marriages we agreed to support Castle Square once they are registered.
Kid’s Club are making Dung ball money boxes to raise money for Christian Aid. They have also made a Giant Version so that we may support them – this will replace the copper pot from now until May 21st.
