Dates for your Diary
Saturday 23rd July A Syrian Evening
A Syrian evening of food, fun, singing and dancing to welcome our Syrian friends – not only from Pontypridd but from Cardiff too. All are welcome but please put your name and telephone number on the sheet at the back of the church – so that we can make sure that we have enough food – the Syrian families will be making it all for us. We will also need an array of large saucepans to use on the night.
Come and celebrate!!

News from the General Assembly
Phil was one of 8 delegates from the Synod of Wales to attend the General Assembly of the United Reformed Church, which met in Southport 8 – 11th July. Though sessions were long and, at times, entangled in the minutiae of ecclesial eccentricities, many important and exciting resolutions where passed – from ecumenical endeavours and ministry matters to significant statements on same sex marriage, Trident, refugees and environmental policy. More details can be found in the News round up at the back of the church or online at www.urc.org.uk/news.
A new directory of members and friends showing who your ‘new’ pastoral elder is will be available shortly. In the meantime and during Phil’s holiday please contact Maralyn Tomlinson if ‘your’ Elder has retired.
