15th January 2017
We welcome all who join us for our ‘all age‘ worship today, our 15th Anniversary as a uniting church.. If you are a visitor or worshipping with us for the first time you are especially welcome.
Phil is leading our morning service which will include the celebration of the Lord’s Supper, and we invite all who so wish, to share in the bread and wine with us.
This evening is a ‘Prayer and Praise’ evening with no set plan but all are invited to bring a hymn, poem or story which says something of the St David’s Uniting Church journey.
Coffee and Tea will be served in the hall following the morning service and handmade greetings cards will be on sale; we invite you all to join in this time of informal fellowship.
As always the Copper pot is on the table at the back of the church waiting for your coppers, which will eventually benefit local charities

Church Family and Pastoral News
We include this in the news sheet to inform our prayers during the week. This week we pray for Marilyn Young who has a ‘check up’ this week, Del Doyle, Russell, Chris Fennell, John Henson, Sue Skym, Enid, Loreen, Margaret and Chris, the Sudanese family and our Syrian friends.
Thanks – to everyone for their prayers, cards and messages of sympathy which we received on the death of Dad. They were a great comfort to us all and we feel that we have been surrounded by love over the last few weeks. Thanks also to Ray and Phil for the lovely services which they conducted at the chapel of rest and at Glyntaf.
Margaret Morris.

Church Meeting – following worship on January 29th
Today we recall our church story as we celebrate the anniversary of St David’s Uniting Church. In a fortnight we have the opportunity to celebrate and participate in the mission of this community in our church meeting – which we conduct after morning worship twice a year. Everyone – whether members or not – are welcome to attend as we discuss and decide upon issues regarding the life and work of the church. The meeting will end by 1:30pm at the very latest. As it is a fifth Sunday, there is no evening service that night.
Saturday Coffee Bar
The Coffee Bar is an important part of our outreach. We open for just two hours on most Saturday mornings. It is run by a small group of volunteers who serve toasted teacakes – we would welcome ‘new’ volunteers – could YOU be a volunteer, there is a new rota on the table – PLEASE sign up and help us!
Alan Hills has taken on the role of coordinator, which has been vacant since Fiona moved to Cardiff. Last week he took 28kgs of food to the depot in St Luke’s. We have boxes in church and the hall where items can be put.
A full list of acceptable items is on the notice board.
News sheet
For the next 6 weeks the news sheet will be compiled in the ‘Spanish Office’. This is your newssheet, if you have anything that you want to share with us then PLEASE send items via your elder or email office1.sduc@gmail.com
A card received from Hellen Nkuraiiya-
Hi Beverley and the St.David’s Uniting Church
I just want to let you know that I arrived home safely and I wish to thank you very much for inviting me in your church and the gift you gave to me.
With some of the money I bought one of the widows a goat and she really appreciated it a lot and her life has been changed .
God bless you all. Hellen
