We offer a warm welcome to all who join us for worship today. If you are a visitor, or worshipping with us for the first time you too are most welcome.
We especially welcome our own Rev Ray Vincent who is leading this morning’s worship as Phil is finding out what the Junior Church get up to on a Sunday morning! This evening’s service at Church House will be Table Talk: Living the Questions and will be led by Ray and Michael and will include Communion.
Coffee and tea will be served in the hall after this morning’s service and handmade greetings cards will be on sale.
As usual the copper pot is on the table waiting for your ‘small change’, which will benefit local charities

People to hold in your thoughts and prayers today and during this week:
- Janet Bayliss who is out of hospital after her operation and is making steady progress.
- Martin, in hospital for an operation on his leg
- Those for whom this time of year holds sad memories.
While Marcia is in the Spanish office please pass on pastoral news to an elder, or contact her by email.
This Week and in the future:
This afternoon, Phil will be leading the annual ‘Light for our Loss’ service at Castle Square. During this time, there is the chance to remember a loved one no longer with us. The church is open between 4 and 6pm with the short act of worship taking place at 5pm. All are welcome to attend.”
Rev Peter Noble is being Inducted into the pastorate of Llanfair Uniting Church and Penrhys on Monday, January 29th at 1.30pm We are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served after the service.
The speaker for this week’s Ladies Guild Meeting on Wednesday is Rev Michael Gable, of St Lukes Rhydfelin. St Lukes is the main base for Pontypridd FoodBank , so no guessing what the topic of his talk will be.
Correction! Phil was NOT on leave, he was attending a preparation course for the trip he is leading to The Holy Land later this year! He has returned and is catching up on his emails !!
Last week Alan took 19.8kg of food plus £5 to the Foodbank at St Lukes. There is a need for Tinned food, Pasta and Longlife Milk.
A ‘shopping list’ of suggested items is on the Notice board. Items can be put in the box in the hall.
Would YOU be prepared to support our children’s work by volunteering to go out with the Junior Church team on a Sunday every couple of months (no preparation work needed), please talk with Catherine, Mo or Liz. You will need to have an up to date DBS
Sponsor Iestyn! As Iestyn mentioned last Sunday …..perception of childhood persists in many ways, but mostly in the way we acknowledge the dependence of children on adulthood, and I’m sure you can think of many different ways in which this can be manifest…..even my decision to run the London Marathon in April for Save the Children Fund (my first plug – sponsorship form is on the back table!)
‘Abraham: A Journey Through Lent’ by Dr Meg Warner is our Lent book for 2018. The book costs £7.
It is a story of journeying, of challenges, of false turns and unbelievable promises; experience their relevance to your own faith and the world we live in, and finally, encounter a God whose love and faithfulness covers all our disbelief, our mistakes and our own faithlessness, and whose promises always come to fulfilment. Meg will be giving a lecture at our church on the evening of March 28th. Today is your last opportunity to sign-up for the book.

Thought for the Week
Pharisees banked on holy ancestry, What do we bank on?
Technology… Wealth… Status…Membership…
But the good King does not measure by the Gold Standard.
His weights are justice, righteousness and peace.
How do we fare on his scales as individuals, communities, nations?
